We're hoping to celebrate Advent at home this year. I got a calendar with little windows to open every day. And we want to do a wreath. Of course, I know very little about it, so I googled it. If you're interested, here's one website I found: http://www.kencollins.com/question-10.htm. I'm sure there are many more as well. Now, I hope I can find a small wreath and purple candles in Red Lake somewhere!
Since our Christmas candy tradition is not happening this year (Rhonda, are you sure you can't just make a quick trip for it??) and a big cookie-baking day with a bunch of others seems like too much commotion and craziness... I'm thinking about hosting a cookie exchange/ladies Christmas party at my house some evening soon. I'm trying to think what would be a good focus for the evening, what should we "do", etc. Do you have any ideas? Oh, of course we'll eat good (fattening?!?) food!
Our church is hosting a Christmas dinner theater this year. The youth group from the Baptist Church in Vermillion Bay did it there last year and people loved it. So they're doing it again and decided to "take the show on the road". It will be Dec. 2 & 3 and I'm excited about it. You can pray with us that many people will come and that the Gospel message will be received! And, that we can find a babysitter! :-)

Well Jenni and Rhonda, I guess I just don't have the sense that you both do. I'm still doing lots of candy and cookies this year but with my kids as helpers, and Leona. They would all be very sad not to have all those yummies in the house to enjoy. =) I will miss doing it with both of you though. sigh. Maybe 2 years from now?
I went to a cookie exchange last year, and we had kind of an afternoon tea. She had a cheeseball and stuff like that on nice dishes and a fancy cake tray with some different kinds of dessert type things on it. Then we played a few games like a quiz about Christmas carols, and a Christmas themed version of scategories. (You could probably find some games online.) She had some prizes that wouldn't be that interesting to people in RL, probably, but stuff like Craisins and Kraft Dinner made great prizes here! :) Then we divided up our cookies and went home! She hadn't told us how many to bring, so we got anywhere from 6 to 24 of each kind. So, there's how that one went. :)
And, yes, I hope to be in Canada for Christmas in two years.
My word verification is Knulyn. You could consider that for your next kid...I think it's unisex. :)
Thanks for the tip(s). I'll be sure to write that name down for future reference! Haha!
I feel I have no comments for this post, except that maybe Knulyn could have a twin sister Asubj... but I'm glad you updated. I think everyone should just come to my house for Christmas! Miss you!
HEy jenni...where are ya? =)I'm glad we talk on the phone every now and then.
