I Love Santa!

Well, not really. I just love getting (and giving) presents. My favorites this year were: two books and a CD that were on my list (Bodie Thoene, Jan Karon, and Michael W. Smith), a stainless steel compost bucket with a lid and everything (Lee Valley), and a beautiful framed picture from Rachel that she took in Madagascar. So, I want to hear from you (even you lurkers that I know are out there - Kathy, Priscilla, Eunice, Kathrina, Twila, Lisa, Betty, Becky, Debby, etc., etc.). What was your favorite gift(s) this year??

Considering that the total number of gifts I received was four, I think they're all pretty nice. : )

1) a book about southern Italy - which I hope to visit when we're in Albania next year

2) a Cessna sweatshirt - from my brother who works there

3) a pair of shoes - from mom and dad. Of course, mom and I shopped for the shoes, she paid for them, and we didn't bother to wrap them. : )

4) a pair of gloves - won in our family's "dirty Santa" bingo game.

Really exciting stuff, huh?

a 6-quart crockpot, assuming that we can get the plug changed to fit my outlets. :)

i don't think it's fair to count the earrings i bought a few weeks before C-mas and donated to the cause...

Steve and I opted to not get presents for each other this year. I got gifts of a different sort, though:
Peace in knowing we didn't spend money needed for other things
Joy in seeing the pleasure on our children's faces--they had gotten gifts for each other (with a little help from Steve and I)and did a very good job of pleasing each other
Pleasure in having our own family Christmas evening with a special meal and time together--not being swallowed up in extended family activities
Sorry so long!

I got a bunch of sheep for my collection from my husband and friends and 3 "Good Eats" DVDs that I was not expecting from my wonderful husband!! (I didn't get him anything quite so nice, but I DID sit outside of Best Buy for 14 hours to get us a new laptop!)

hey! I'm not a lurker anymore..>i do blog with you sometimes!!! :-)

My husband gave me money!!! :-) that happens after 17 years of marriage!!! He did tell me what to buy tho...an insulated pair of pants so I could go sledding without freezing to death, and some clothes. That was extremely nice of him. I surprised him and framed for him one of his signature limited edition John Deere prints that he has received both years (for free!)that he has went to the John Deere Expo. He was quite surprised!! We also received money from both of our parents and that went into the savings account at the bank so we can fly to Florida over Easter!!!!!!! It will be 2 1/3 years since our boys will have been to Florida to see their long lost friends. Praise God for parents that send money!!! :-)

Are all you Slaubaughs out there planning on going to the Family Reunion in July?
