It's been a beautiful fall here. We've had lots of sunny, crisp/cool days to enjoy. But, I find I have a hard time enjoying it to the fullest because Fall mostly evokes in me a dread of winter. Sad, isn't it. Winter here is so long and often comes so early. I find that hard to deal with. Some day, I'd like to live somewhere - even if it's just for one year - where Fall is a really long, beautiful season and the winter that follows doesn't strike terror to my heart. And where there are lots of hard-woods that bust out with red and orange leaves. Here were mostly have just yellow leaves. But, in the meantime I'll try to soak in the beautiful days we have. And this year I've been thoroughly enjoying my maple tree that has Red Leaves. It's been wonderful! Happy fall!

hey! Thanks for the lovely pictures. Here we don't have the dreaded winter at all (just a chilly rain for a few days = ). But we don't have any of those beautiful leaves either. (sidenote - I think it got up to 90 a couple days ago. Today it was in the upper 70s I believe.)
Jenni, Thanks for posting again and for the pics. How old is Grandpa Yutzy? It sounds like you just described Southern WI. We had a beautiful fall with beautiful trees. We have lots of hardwoods. Then winter except for last year is usually to mild for me after having grown up in Northern MN. Eunice
eunice, can i come be your neighbor? i've always loved WI! i think grandpa is 87 or 88.
What about Prov. 31:21? :)I know what you mean about the long winters, but then again, with all the cozy clothes we have, plus wood to burn and nutritious food....I do feel for all you moms with little ones to dress and then put into car seats fully bundled, etc. Hang in there, they grow up and actually get themselves ready for each day even in the middle of winter! AND (they)remember to pee before putting on their snowsuits too.
