Speedbumps on the Information Highway

Keith used to belong to the Lead Pencil Club, and that was their slogan or something! And it's really sorta true about us. We're only as "techy" as we need to be to "survive". (Isn't it amazing what we think it means to survive in this century in N. America!?! But I guess that would be a topic for another post.) So, we just bought a DVD player last month - because I'm tired of borrowing Kayla's whenever we want to watch a DVD. (Which really isn't all that often, but Kayla might be getting tired of loaning hers.)

So, the other day when I mentioned again that I want a digital camera, Keith shocked me by saying, "Yeah, I've been thinking it's time we do that." Yeah!!! So now I need some help. Where do I start looking, what do I look for, what do you have on yours that you like or dislike, etc. The things that are important to me are: little or no delay when taking pictures, decent quality photos , mid-range price. If you have any advice, pass it along!

Ask Kendra about hers. It's better than ours and takes excelent CLOSE close ups. She can also do a bunch really fast in a row without hardly any time inbetween frames. We will definitely do something different than the one we have now if we ever get another one. Another thing that I think is good about hers is the flash. Ours tends to wash things out, because its too harsh and strong, I guess.

We really like ours. It is a Casio - Exlim 5 mega pix. It is very small and handy to use, it also has a large screen. We did have a Cannon a few years back and it gave us nothing but trouble. We had it repaired twice under warranty and when that was over it gave us more trouble. The screen just went black on us. Our boys have an updated version of our Casio and they also like it alot. We leave in 8 hrs for the airport and will be Haiti bound.

We have the Sony Cyber-shot and I am very happy with it. It is not top-of-the-line, so I've seen better, but over all it's great. It does good close ups, and has several different flash settings that I tend to use a lot. I also never use the red-eye feature because of the delay, and just take out red eyes when I edit them on the computer.

Hurry up and get it before Josiah leaves home. :-)

I have a Conon Powershot A700. I think it takes really good pics but I have a couple complaints - the delay is bad, but I could maybe control that with flash settings like Rhonda was saying. Also after a picture is taken, sometimes it takes a long time for the flash to stop blinking so you can take another one - I think I'll try to get that fixed.

Hi jenni! we have a Sony Cyber-shot. 5.1 mega pixels, 3x optical zoom that we really like. I think optical zoom is for zooming in on pictures you've already taken. Ours doesn't pause too long between pictures. My moms does and it drives her nuts, especially when taking pictures of babies. Have fun! Check ebay

Sounds like Sony Cyber-Shot has a good rep. That's what I have.
